Each year, on Easter Monday, the streets of the old city of Luxembourg turn into a large market, the Emaischen.
There you’ll find pottery as well as the traditional “whistling birds” flutes also made from pottery known as the “Péckvillercher”.
At the Emaischen, you will also find many things for the greedy among us (nougat, roasted nuts etc) as well as entertainment.
If you want to buy a « Péckvillchen », make sure you’re there early in the morning. The Emaischen is a huge success every year.
In the village of Nospelt, a second Luxembourgish pottery fair takes place on the same day as Emaischen.
The “Museum of the Pottery” is located in this small village in the west of the country, not far from the Belgian border.
